Separate an Offer from an Assumption

Make temporary figures explicit.

The record to make

Make temporary figures explicit. An offer is information supplied by the club for a specified situation. An assumption is a figure you choose to explore a calculation. Place these in separate columns. Never write estimated next year price in the confirmed quote column; the calculator does not forecast fees, discounts or renewal amounts.

Work through the worksheet

Label every hypothetical scenario with the word assumption and its purpose. Keep a scenario out of the confirmed record until the club supplies the same figure in writing. If you want to see how a different amount affects a total, change only that input and note the difference, without suggesting the new amount is a likely offer.

Worked arithmetic, not a quoted price

Hypothetical sensitivity check: £80 monthly across twelve months is £960 before other fees. Testing an assumed £85 gives £1,020, £60 more. This demonstrates that a £5 monthly input change repeats twelve times. It gives no probability, prediction or evidence about a real provider changing its prices.

Check the uncertainty

Can a reader distinguish the club supplied amount from your scenario? For “Separate an Offer from an Assumption”, keep the answer with your figures. An exact calculation cannot confirm a missing input. If the written quote and your interpretation disagree, request clarification from the club before treating the result as complete.

Source and scope

The official membership options page says costs depend on the club and chosen configuration. The linked official resources provide enquiry context, not the hypothetical figures above.
